Food Company Logo Design
Your logo design is a big part of your brand identity. It can tell potential customers who you are, what you stand for and why they should spend their money with you rather than your competitors.
Client Design Request :
a very simple brand logo, which encapsulates all of the below information.
Olive Hill is a beautiful 20 acre farm in Sabina, Italy, an hour north of Rome. A British couple embarking on an exciting adventure of becoming farmers in Italy are the lucky owners. They approached me as they wanted a brand logo designed.
The farm will be producing single estate, extra virgin olive oil from the 400 olive trees. They also have nuts from the 200 trees and in future will be producing honey, jams, pickles and marmalades and wine from the small vineyard.
My client was also considering an “adopt an olive tree” programme as well as bed & breakfast accommodation.
The brand values provided were: Home made, high quality, high provenance, ethical and environmentally conscious.
The Logo Design Solution
As there was such a large scope for expanding the Olive Hill brand, I felt that the graphic that accompanied the logo needed to be something that could be applied to all future products/activities related to Olive Hill.
The olive branch that interwines ‘Olive Hill’ fits the criteria and also symbolises the undulating landscape on which the land lies. I decided that ‘Sabina’ should be done in an italian style serif typeface to emulate it’s history. The typeface is actually based on classic Roman letterforms and contrasts beautifully with the handwritten font.
The whole logo has a feeling of farmers markets which is where the target audience would frequent and I feel it explains very well about it’s history: ‘English farmers in Italy’.
